Continuing our presentation we can see a zoomed view to a 1 degree field of view and using GSC 1.1 stars to show up to 13.5 mag in the picture below. you can see also labeled magnitudes, that is an option.
Our trip now goes to Slideshow module, available in Party main menu option of Tachyon. There you can show some slides. We have picked up Hubble slideshow. As a sample we have got Egg Nebula as we see below
If you context menu, as below, Tachyon is powerful enough to send you directly to object location in Sky Charts. You can even direct your telescope with one click !
Less than one minute after that you are in a zoomed in location of Egg nebula, in a field of 0.9 degrees wide. We can see up to 15th mag i9n this screen.
But we would like a real image from a ground based Telescope. Now Tachyon shows how powerful is it ! We press VIEW / DSS and a new dialog will show. You can even make a choice of the plate you want from DSS or DSS2 ! Pressing Get Image and Tachyon will do the work if you are connected to the internet with your PDA.
Tachyon getting file from the internet !
Now you see the image of Egg Nebula as from a 1.2m Schmidt Telescope. You can select a part and see details....
Details of Egg Nebula
After leaving the dialog you can see the uimage in the correct position in SkyCharts
And even zooming in to a field of only 6 arc-min !
