Only One Available. This is a lovely example of a very scarce model of sword, the Austrian 1845 Model Cavalry Troops Sabre. This model of sword was exported in high numbers for use by the Confederate Army during the American Civil War from 1861 1865. The sword is marked on the ricasso (Austria usually omitted the first number): 849 And on the other side: WERTHEIM IN WIEN This indicates 1849 manufacture by Wertheim of Vienna, Austria.
