Dating from the Napoleonic era of 1795 to 1815 this was worn by a Drummer Boy who beat the timing for Infantry marching on the battlefield. Of simple construction consisting of a "Gladius" Roman style blade 17" long and 1 3 4" wide mounted with an all brass checkered hilt with integral cross guard.
