Saxe-Weimar and Eisenach, Grand Duchy. A Medal for Life Saving in Silver Archive postmarked Port Rowan(Medaille fr Lebensrettung in Silber). Instituted 24 June 1881 by Grand Duke Carl Alexander. (1881 1918 issue). Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension, the obverse bearing a central raised Saxe Weimar and Eisance coat of arms, circumscribed by an inscription of VIGILANDO ASCENDIMUS (THROUGH VIGILANCE WE ASCEND), the reverse bearing a central raised inscription of FR RETTUNG AUS LEBENSGEFAHR (FOR RESCUE FROM DANGER TO LIFE), set within a wreath
