This fantastic ultra rare example of a genuine WWI Aviator flying helmet is made of a stiff leather, much like the leather shells of the WWI German pickelhaube helmets. Below the stiff leather bowl is a supple leather apron that covers the pilots neck. This example comes with the scarce additional snap on apron extension. The internal ears are covered with a fabric mesh material
