Germany, Imperial. An Observer’s Badge, c. 1919 consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac in very fine plus condition(Beobachterabzeichen). Constructed of silvered brass with multi coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a German State Crown, and bearing a central enameled medallion situated on a radiant field, the reverse with a barrel hinge situated above a strike plate, with a vertical pinback meeting a flattened and rounded catch, unmarked, measuring 44. 23 mm (w) x 72. 36
