This very nice example features a 7½” barrel and all matching serial numbers of 156521 indicating manufacture in 1863 and bears the bears on the top of the barrel:

and it is only marked with the letter "L"

Here is an octagonal barreled Rifled "Kentucky" style rifle, which more correctly is known as a Pennsylvania Rifle. It was actually made using a BRITISH TRADE percussion lock mechanism, on which one can still make out the British Lock maker's name, which appears to be RIDDLE. The left side is obscured so the
